Following feedback from Patients and GP Practices. Changes have been made to the way patients receive a blood test from 1 July 2018.
Hamilton Medical Centre have decided to host our own clinics in our Surgery. We have listened to patient feedback from your current and past experiences with Phlebotomy (Blood Clinics) and have taken your opinions on board. All patient blood tests will be dealt with at Hamilton Medical Centre, we feel this will improve continuity of your care while making it as easiest as possible for the patient to have a quick blood test without a long wait.
We have Blood Clinics daily, for which you can pre-book your appointment, keeping waiting times to a minimum. Nurses and Doctors may also take your blood at other times to suit you. Please ask at reception for further details if you need to have your blood taken.
The blood clinics will be run by our two Practice Nurses Becky and Janet. Please note if you are booked in to a nurse for a blood test, due to the small allocated appointment time and to ensure the clinic doesn’t run late for other patients, the Nurse will only take your bloods, if you need to see her regarding another problem also, please make sure you mention this while booking the appointment and reception will be able to allocate you a larger appointment slot.
Home Visits for a Blood Test is strictly for housebound patients only. If you are not housebound you will be asked to come to the surgery to have your bloods taken. If you need to have your bloods taken and are housebound, please contact reception on 0151 649 0191 to arrange for your blood visit.
